Claire has a wealth of experience including being the Women’s Match Race World Champion in 2009 and 2010 and going on to represent France in the Match Racing discipline at the London Olympics in 2012.
“I arrived at the Olympic Games without having followed the classical dinghy route to learn racing, I was a bowman thrown there because we were number one in match racing”.
Claire has set herself new personal challenges; the solo racing circuit. A humble character, who is a team player and cultivates a great spirit amongst her training partners at the Pôle Finistère Course au Large training establishment. Making her debut on the single handed circuit in 2013, Claire is the first to admit that she has not yet mastered all the skills of this legendary race, packed with the best offshore racing skippers.
Once on land, Claire is able to set aside the sailing rhythm “boat, work, sleep” and enjoys her hobbies of creating lamps, restoring furniture and such like, which is quite different to the typical sailor!
Supporting “The Magenta Project” is obvious to me. This is the most successful initiative to bring together women who sail at the highest level, and highlight the values we uphold every day through our personal projects. Through its colors, I hope to inspire other women to realize their dreams and to show that with ambition, everything is possible!
